Told the lady at the corn place that was the first corn of had since
arriving. She asked if there were no other corn stands.
I said there were but I was busy eating all of Iowa's pigs and just
hadn't had time to work my way to the cornbin yet.

Hey Ray!
It took me awhile to figure out how to leave you a comment. I am not sure what your email address is, or I would have emailed you sooner.
I just wanted to say congratulations for making it through RAGBRAI. I grew up in Iowa, and your report of the people and things there remind me very much of my youth. Of course, I have no desire to go back and live there after being away for over 30 years, but my parents and family is still there, so I get to visit every now and then.
The whole RAGBRAI thing looks like something I might want to try some year. Of course, that might mean that I actually would have to get off my fat butt and exercise, but that's probably not a bad idea.
Thanks for the stories, the pictures, and, as I always say, for being you. Even though we have never met, I feel honored to call you my friend.
Good job on the ride. BZ!
Tim Russell
