The End

1015am central time.

I dipped my front wheel in the Mississippi River. I am a Ragbrai
virgin no more.

471 miles. 7 days. Not too bad for a fat old geeky guy, huh?

Congrats, Ray! I am proud of you for being able to dip your front wheel in the river. It's amazing what one can achieve when he puts his mind into it. I wish I could have been at the finish line this morning to hug you.

Now stop eating junk food to keep that sexy body of yours lean. You look damn good :-)

Won't you feel funny not sleeping in a tent next to a railroad track with a bunch of snoring people to wake up a 5:00AM to climb on your bike? (How's that for a run on sentence??) Hope you are planning to sleep in and rest. I am very thrilled for you. T

Ray!

Man, I'm proud of you. I knew you'd finish it, since you ain't the guy that gives up that quick.

I have to tell you that I loved some of the latest pics with you in them, smiling and looking happy. Seeing that makes me happy, too.

I missed you by 15 minutes; maybe next year.

I remember you blogging about getting on that bike a year or so ago and not being able to make it more than a few blocks. DAMN you are inspiring. I've recently started walking and I can jog a whole 16th of a mile. Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to do a lot more.
((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Congratulations, Ray! What an amazing experience that was, and it's something you can always look back on and say "I did it". Fantastic! Big hugs to you.
